The event is designed to be a true "Amsterdam Experience," where participants can see, hear, and taste the city. Along the routes, Le Champion provides entertainment in the form of Amsterdam choirs and folk singers, and at the rest stops, walkers are treated to typical Amsterdam delicacies. The day concludes with a festive celebration at the finish line, where participants receive a unique medal and can celebrate their achievement.

A Global Gathering

The Amsterdam City Walk attracts participants from all over the world. In addition to Dutch walkers, people from 18 other countries will be at the starting line, including participants from as far away as Japan, Canada, and Mauritius. The 10 km is the most popular distance this year with 3,800 walkers, closely followed by the 17 km, which attracts nearly 3,600 participants.

Route Details and Starting Points

Each route is designed to offer a different perspective of Amsterdam, from its bustling historic center to its serene parks and waterways. The starting locations vary depending on the chosen distance:

  • 10 km: Starts at Rembrandtplein, in the heart of the city.
  • 14 km: Begins near Sloterdijk Station.
  • 17 km, 20 km, 26 km, and 33 km: All start from the iconic Olympic Stadium.

In 2025, for the first time, all routes will culminate at a new finish line: Strandzuid, a popular city beach next to the Beatrixpark.
