The "rainbow song contest" provides a national stage for LGBTQ+ artists and allies to perform original songs centered around a queer theme.
The COC Songfestival 2025 is the 29th edition of the Netherlands' premier queer music competition.
Organized by COC Nederland, the country's oldest LGBTQ+ advocacy organization, the festival is a celebration of community, visibility, and musical talent. The event is hosted by the COC association of the previous year's winner.
This edition is organized by COC Zeeland & West-Brabant, who earned the right to host after their entry, Breakout, won the 2024 festival. The event will be presented by Dutch writer and television host Splinter Chabot.
Modeled with a nod to the Eurovision Song Contest, the COC Songfestival features artists and acts representing various regional COC associations and other LGBTQ+ organizations from across the Netherlands. They compete for the coveted rotating trophy. The winner is determined by votes from both a professional jury and regional juries.
