PHOTOBOOTH is an art-experiment connected to the autobiographical work of Laurent Muller. The project explores how he, as a 50-year-old gay man, thrives amidst acceptance and homophobia, love and rejection, consensual sex and abuse, hate crimes and murder—all contradictions that make us aware of what our freedom means today and how we can be truly authentic in our current society. Every visitor is invited to be photographed and thus tell a story of personal liberation by reenacting that personal moment. The photos, seen as a reflection of the collective consciousness, will subsequently be used in the future mixed media works that Laurent will create after the event.
