Join us to explore the purple hills and majestic woods of the Veluwezoom! Both start and end points are NS train stations.
The walk will be around 16 km. English language only
This is one of the oldest and most popular NS walks. Purple moors, stately beech avenues, wide view from the Posbank.
We will walk from Dieren to Velp. The route takes us right through the Veluwezoom National Park. This consists of a large number of estates that have been purchased by Natuurmonumenten. First we walk through the hilly Onlozen Bosschen, which used to belong to the hunting grounds of the Princes of Orange. We'll have to climb and descend quite a bit on this part of the route. Then we will discover the impressive heathland at the Posbank and the Zijpenberg.
This is a social event. The only language that we will use during the hike is English.
Feel free to chat with the others in the group!
The North Holland Dune Reserve is one of the largest nature reserves in the country. The area extends from the Tata Steel site near Wijk aan Zee to the Schoorlse Dunes. It is approximately 20 kilometres long and on average 2.5 km wide, with a surface area of 5,300 hectares. The area includes dunes, beach, inner dune edge forests with a lot of relief and several smaller nature reserves.
